[OBT/Attachment]
Dear diary,
4 days after my return from Mt.Kinabalu, I was back at Changi Airport again to fly off to Taiwan for Outward Bound Taiwan! Was very excited that 6 of us from ADC will be going! =)

A lot of the ADC ppl came to support us who were going to ADC! They stayed over at the airport together. So sweet! =)

The flight took 4hours and we arrived at Taipei just before noon.

We took a 40min bus ride to OBT base camp where we spent the first 3 days.

First day was orientation and ice breakers.

Second day was high elements. FUN!

Third day was river tracing. Awesome! Though I nearly drowned. Haha.

On the fourth day we took a 4hour bus ride to Dong Pu where we would start our 6-day trekking expedition to 2 mountains.

We trekked to Batongguan summit (3.335km) and Jade mountain where we played ice at 3.4km (summit is 3.9km).

Can check out the pictures on my facebook. =)

The trek was easy for most of the way. Flat ground and beautiful scenery. But occasionally there were broken bridges destroyed typhoon and many many landslides. Dangerous but yet quite thrilling. =)

On the 1st day trek we were too slow so we ended up trekking 2hours in the dark. It was PITCH BLACK and my pathetic cheapo head torch gave a mere dim faded yellowish light as compared to the instructors sharp bright light. Gosh. haha.

It was pretty cold up in the mountains. One morning it reached 0'C. Woohoo...our utensils were frozen and stuck together. Haha.

The food we ate on the mountains was fantastic. Ate till we were really really full. Our trail food was very good too! Pork floss, BBQ pork, biscuits, love letters, apples...etc. Shiok.

Something interesting is the Ecotoilet at our 2nd base camp 2.4km altitude. The toilet is a cubicle with a hole in the middle. After doing your big/small business, you'll have to turn a steering-wheel-like thing to churn your manure with other ppl's manure. Cool stuff.

Walking on ice was great! First time I see real natural ice! It was really slippery too. We even played a game that whoever loses will have to take a big full mouthful of ice to eat. Wah...cold cold cold!!!

On the last day we had an hour of shopping. =) Nice play. I ate a really tall ice-cream with Nadiah...my gosh...the ice cream length was from my abdomen to my mouth. Which is...about...half a meter? Yes. Tall ice cream...really tall.

The flight back to Singapore was okay...I watched 2 movies! And I got a pack of playing cards from China Airlines. YES AH!

We landed...and I saw ADC ppl waiting for us! SO SWEET! =) Eugene, Ming Fei, WeiNi, Andy Leong...hee.

I returned on thursday night, 18th March. On the coming Monday...I had to report to TTSH at 1pm for attachment. Anti-climax. Haiz.

Because I wanted to go for OBT, i had to delay my attachment by a week. Meaning, when I started my 1st week attachment, my other friends were already into their 2nd week. Yes. Which means when they finish on the 3rd week, I'll only be on my 2nd week and I have to do my 3rd week alone. The only student in the ward. Scary huh.

On thursday night after my arrival, I sms-ed Lai Ying to see how's she at attachment etc. She told me she was ill and took 1 week MC! HAHA.

God is good! So she started her attachment the same time as me! And on our 3rd week, the 2 of us were left in the ward. hee. =) She was glad I was there to accompany her...and I was also glad she was there to accompany me. Somehow, God planned out everything nicely. =)

The attachment at TTSH was not bad. I was in ward 5B. Saw a lot of interesting cases and learnt quite a bit on taking cases, passing report, how to give injections properly and serving medications. My lecturer in-charge was okay...gave me good comments even though I had a little 10min disagreement with her regarding the school rules and the uniform.

I actually bought 2 sets of pants suit and wore it for my attachment. My lecturer asked if I was an ITE graduate and I said no. So she said I'm violating school rules and must change back to the frock uniform like everyone else.

The school is rather behind time. Why must ALL females have to wear that uncomfortable frock and not allowed to wear pants? (only matured, accelerated and ITE graduates are allowed to wear pants). The school says the frock looks nice and it is the school rule for all females to wear frocks unless the above exceptions.

This was what I told the lecturer:
1. The frock looks nice but it's uncomfortable. How can I work properly if I'm not comfortable?
2. TTSH staff have already changed their uniform into the comfortable scrub suit years ago, why should the students be wearing frock instead of pant suit?
3. Ngee Ann students are given a choice whether to wear frock or pants suit, why doesn't NYP implement that?
4. (she told me to suggest to the school that students be given a choice). I told her I have already said so months ago.

Anyway, 3 days after I had to return to wearing my unaltered, large size frock uniform, NYP changed the rule that now students have a choice to wear either pants or frock. Finally...it's about time.

During the students' dialogue session late 2008 or early 2009, I voiced out that students should be given a choice to choose between the 2 types of uniform. Yup. *grin*

Now that attachment is over...I have 10 days holiday! =) On good friday to saturday night, I went with Ming Fei, Guolong and Jiejie to Cameron highlands. =) Eat, shop, sleep. =) Hee. Nice place. Cool weather and windy. We visited 2 strawberry farms and boh tea plantation.

Today I went to school to discuss the climbrun committe with Mr. Wilfred. Then I went for a 40min swim and went to makan with andy yong and ming fei. Ming fei and I shared sambal kang kong, sambal stingray and lala. WAH! SHIOK MAN. =)

Yesterday I ran 7km in 48mins. A bit too fast coz I'm planning 7km/h as my speed for Sundown's 42km. =) I have about a month to train. I don't know if I can finish the marathon in 6hours as planned. Probably end up walking a lot. Hahaha...

I'm now starting a new game on facebook, Restaurant City! Looks cute.

Loretta's 22nd birthday today! Happy Birthday!! Many happy days to come!

Okay...

Goodbye.
