[One more week of attachment]
Dear diary,
one more week of attachment! Finished my 2 weeks posting in the hospital, next week will be in toa payoh polyclinic.

On friday, the last day of hospital attachment. Another patient collasped, but he survived and was sent to ICU. I saw insertion of nasogastric tube twice. Rather painful to standby and tell them to this painful procedure is for their good.

I was changing pampas together with 2 other student nurses and one assistant nurse. Suddenly the patient pulled out his NG tube. Omg! So shocked. He was so strong that it took 3 of us to hold him down. Usually he's just sleeping. But suddenly there was a burst of energy. And he seemed extremely agitated, probably because the AN inserted some medication into his anus and didn't inform him. Think she didn't see the need to inform him since he doesn't talk at all. But I learnt that even though some patients have already given up on themselves, refuse to talk or do anyting to help themselves, it doesn't mean we can just heck care about them. They still have their right to be informed about what procedure they're going for and for what purpose.

Like many nurses have said, sometimes it's a family that is irritating, not the patient. *agrees*

At the end of morning shift, we presented a nice card to Ward 8C! I wrote a poem in the card. Here it is:

You! First or second break?
The beds, are they made?
The patients, have they bathe?
Are they done?
Are you sure?

Hey, where are the files?
Err...somewhere along the aisle?
Look around the station!
I'm losing my patience!

Student, what are you doing?
And where are you going?
Stay in your cubicle
And be a good girl.

We made another card for Ms. Joan, our clinical instructor. I think she's really really nice and funny. But she's very strict when it comes to work. I like her a lot though I did get some scolding from her. Muaha! Anyway, she's off to melbourne for work attachment. Oh! And Ms.Joan said Eunice looks like Olive, Popeye's wife. SUPER FUNNY la. And before I left, I said goodbye to my favourite nurse. The young pretty indian nurse. She asked me to come back to do my PRCP. HA! =) Hope to see you again!

On saturday I went to see a doctor at toa payoh polyclinic regarding my knee. He said my knees are weak. Gave me medicine and a gel and taught me some knee exercises. I have to get knee guards for running. Sigh. And I learnt how to play Autumn In My Heart. YAY!

Today, sunday, celebrated my sis and my birthday. Today is my sis' bday! Haha! She's 24! So OLD. =P

We bought chilli crab, satay and bbq stingray. Hee!

=)

I hope polyclinic won't be as boring as told by many students.

Bye.
