I have FINALLY finished researching on 30 medications in the ward store. I also did half of my case study.
I'm trying my best to keep my eyes open to type this entry...ZZzzz...
Thank goodness tomorrow is afternoon shift so I at least I can sleep a lil' more.
Today my fave. nurse didn't come! Blegh! Haha...but she's always assigned to another ward, shucks...can learn a lot from her.
Today I made some silly mistakes!! BAH! What was I thinking, thank goodness Lela was there questioning me on how I chart.
SAY! I was taken advantage of by the cleaner! SHEESH! Musn't let this happen again. Just because I'm a student nurse doesn't mean I can be pushed around. She said to me, "Eh student, go and get a jug of water for this patient". Like EXCUSE ME? I'm talking to the patient and YOU are unoccupied at the moment...by the way it's part of her job to serve patients as well.
There were some unhappiness in the ward, complaints that this student is not doing what he/she's suppose to do. Haiz. All these bound to happen.
Anyway, Fam assessed me on bed bath. And she taught me loads of stuff! Care of orthopaedic patients, leg abductors, body mechanics (don't wanna get back injury!), be able to tell which leg is not fractured by assessing the patient. Fam also assess me on vital signs. I'm a terribly forgetful person..forget to take this and that. BAH!
Everything went pretty well. =) Yay.
Okay...I REALLY want to sleep now. I dreamt of the ward for the 2nd time during my afternoon nap today. And several times at home I was pretty sure I heard the call bell...okay..scary.
