Now is actually week 11 of school and my last post was talking about week 1. Gosh. MIA for 10 weeks. Within these 10 weeks, lots of things happened and been really busy...as would any normal poly kid should be.
After the boring SMU race, my faithful race partner melvin and another faithful race partner charlene and I embarked on another adventure --> ADVENTURE TRAIL CHALLENGE by NTU. Since it's a 4-person team, we had another race partner Andy Leong! Our favourite and macho life guard! =)
The race was about 20+km. I enjoyed the terrain --> river crossing at the ulu punggol area, trail running, trail sandy cycling, short kayak route and PLENTY OF RUNNING. Halfway through the race I pull my hamstring. Oh gosh. I struggled to keep up with my team, and then Andy Leong came to my rescue. He piggybacked me twice along the rest of the race. =) And I thought he would piggyback me and walk...but oh no no no...he piggyback me and RAN. I was really amazed...(marvel at his strength?) Anyway my team finished top 10 in our category (actually we're in the 10th position). haha.
While waiting for results, the MC asked some questions related to this race. I got one the questions right and won a 500m cyclone gear bottle. (thanks pang keng for going up to answer the question for me) =)

From left to right: Melvin, Charlene, Qing Ying and Andy Leong (the hero). I'm obviously the smallest size. But then again...I was nicknamed "The Tiny Dangerous One". Wonder how did that come about. Haha.
Melvin, Charlene and I did another adventure race - by Awesome Republic Polytechnic. 20km plus race also. NYP sent 3 mixed teams. Only my team managed to complete the race, the others didn't complete due to heavy rain. Anyway, we got 4th place!! AHHHH! We lost 3rd place by 1min. *thumps chest with fists)
And just recently, last saturday 27th June, melvin and I participated in YET another adventure race by Ngee Polytechnic called Pinnacle. NYP sent in 5 teams.
Youth Mixed:
Pang Keng and Ming Fei
Melvin and Qing Ying
Andy Yong and Yu Yue
Youth Women:
Nadiah and Nasyita
Charlene and Clara (C2)
Maybe coz melvin and I didn't train well, we felt REALLY tired during the race. Like feel so drained. This is the first race we could run side by side, usually melvin will be in front slapping his thigh and asking me to hurry up. haha. Yeah...we run side and side, both panting under the scorching heat and both said nothing. Tsk tsk tsk...
Finally we got to the mystery test station. We were given 4 shapes and we had to piece them together to form a 'M' that is symmetrical. Wah...we sat there for like 15mins, then PangKeng and Mingfei caught up with us. Then we 4 worked tgt on the puzzle. Thankfully the station master gave us 2 clues, then another team gave us 1 clue. So we had 3 fixed pieces and 1 piece left to figure out. Took melvin and I another 5mins then we solved it! quickly showed Pangkeng and Mingfei, then we messed up the puzzle and went to signout.
The last checkpoint was a 3-legged race. This 3-legged race also happened in RP's race and we lost 3rd place by 1min because of it. So when this 3-legged race came up again in NP, wah...we were quite practiced at it already. We overtook a team in front of us and we crossed the finishing line! =)
3 mins later, pang keng and mingfei crossed the finishing line too! =)
The prize presentation was the most amusing part. NYP sent 5 teams, and all 5 teams won something. As usual, charlene was the lucky star and she won another lucky draw! (this is the 3rd time she won)
Youth Women's 1st + Lucky draw winner:
charlene and clara (C2)
Youth Women's 2nd + Lucky draw winner:
Nadiah and Nasyita
Youth Mixed 1st:
Melvin and Qing Ying
Youth Mixed 3rd:
Pang Keng and Ming Fei
Andy Yong and Yu Yue were also lucky draw winners!
WAH!! So proud of all of us! =) Well done NYP ADC!
After the NP race, nadiah, nasyita, nadzirah, loretta, myself, mingfei, andy leong, henry and Mr. Wilfred went for DURIAN RUN. We ran from Yio chu kang (school) to ang mo kio, to toa payoh and to bugis to eat durian, drink fruit juices, eat mangosteen. Mainly to try all the different types of durian and durian products. And then we had macdonalds at 10pm plus before we headed home. :) Long tiring saturday...but I enjoyed myself thoroughly.
H1N1 is getting worst. School holidays extended a week in view of the H1N1's spread to RP and NYP. This extra week of break gave me time to relax at home and catch up with all the work that I have not studied or done.
I'm still praying for H1N1 to subside. coz if it still gets worst, I won't be able to go for my overseas attachment in US. Dear God! *clasp hands tightly*

Oh...haven't talked about my expeditions. *grin*
I went to Jerangkang waterfall on 15th - 18th June. FINALLY...Layho and LaiYing went too! I was really really really happy that they were there! =)
The trip was thoroughly enjoyable. I helped out with pang keng with all the safety stuff (e.g. throw ropes) and was the 2nd guinea pig after pang keng to try out jumping spots. Super fun.
Lai Ying and I were in the same group, it was fun trekking tgt. She keeps laughing...haha.
I prayed really hard that there would be no rain during the 4 days. Coz in march the Berkelah Waterfall Expedition team said it rained everyday during their 4 day trip.
God was indeed good...coz the whole 4 days it didn't rain except for a light rain on one night. =) We expected it to be a HUGE storm coz lightning was striking and thunders were rolling every few seconds. But it was mini tiny puny light rain. God is amazing.
Next expedition coming up! in late July, sea expedition! YAY YAY YAY!!!!

Now about church stuff...
I haven't been to church a lot lately and I haven't been very involved in all its youth activities.
Somehow I feel...drifted. Like...I'm cooped up in my own world again.
I can still remember a few years back...the enthusiasm when sunday comes, the excitement I had when 9am came and the Youth service worship begins.
It no longer feels the same...
I know...it feels...Worlds apart now.
